I really wanted to learn how to read Japanese, so I started to learn hiragana. Surspringly it's going well. I thought that I would have trouble remembering certain characters, but...I don't know. Maybe it's because I've been using this website called realkana.com, to practice. But this week I learned (and memorized) a-i-u-e-o, ka-ki-ku-ke-ko and sa-shi-su-se-so.

I just select the hiragana I want to learn on the website, and practice for about 10 minutes a day. It's amazing, really! And It's fun, if you see some of the characters you've just learned in an anime opening or a RAW manga/ doujinshi! :D

Finally, PSN  Europe has released Final Fantasy VIII in the Playstation Store! Yay! I have played a bit this weekend, and I really love the game. I was looking forward to playing with Squall, the moment I heard the game had been released at the Japanese PSN. I haven't done much, just training and carding some fiends. I haven't even started on the Dollet mission, yet (nor have I been to the Fire cave, actually). But I'm really happy just playing it! :D

A few weeks ago I was bored, and had to write a reflection report (where you have to write about what you have done, and why and why not in another way, ect.), so of course the best answer would be procrastination in the form of surfing the internet. When I'm bored I just surf randomly, and sometimes I find rather interesting or weird things. In this case it's both, I guess.

I found this book, and it's called "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies". Yes, you are reading it right! That is the actual title. When I first came across it, I thought someone was playing a prank or something, but as it turned out, it's an actual book! According to Wikipedia, the book is "a mashup, combining Jane Austen's classic with elements of modern zombie fiction".

I mean, WTF! O.O And the sad thing is, that I actually want to read it! I loved Pride and Prejudice myself (read it in both Dutch and English), and to me it does seem weird to read the story with zombies, but...I don't know. For some incredible unexplainable reason I want to read it..^.^"

Because I have been really busy, and will be busy the whole month, I just wanted to congratulate those who had (or will have)their birthdays in January.

So I'm free from school for about two weeks! Yay! :D

Monday I'm meeting some of my friends to go ice skating. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again! I know it will be fun! I'm a little worried about the public transport, though. In particular the trains, because according to the weather reports there will be quite a lot of snow on Sunday and also some on Monday. The Dutch trains have quite a problem adjusting to snow, it would seem... :D I hope the trains aren't delayed or even canceled! That would really be horrible!

Maybe I should take a pair of underpants and my toothbrush with me...Then at least I can maybe sleep at one of my friens' if the trains are canceled and I have no way to get home.It may come in handy, you'll never know. I'll think about that. In any case I'll be bringing my Christmas cards.

I really don't get any of the crap. I mean I have to search for a 'afstudeerstage', and there is just nothing that has to do with my 'domain' or that I like for that matter. And when I finlly find something that I like (and it was close by; I only had to go about 15 min by tram), I can't do it. Because some crappy professor decides that for a 'afstudeerstage' I can't do anything where I have to make a prototype or whatever. I can only be an advisor, because that way I'll be more prepared for my future. Which is a load of crap, because I really don't want to work as an advisor. I want to work with books! I want to design that library catalogue, damnit!

So, now I have to look for a project again! I have until 11th December to find an organization where I could do my project...

Crap...I really want to cry. Or better yet going to another world were the hardest thing I have to do is to keep fiends out of my vegetable garden.

I just had my presentation for my project. And guess what! I passed!

I went and got a haircut today. It was not that I really needed it (eventhough it had been 6 months since my last haircut, my hair was still healthy), but I just wanted to have layers again. My hair turned out great! I'm really happy with it! It's got lots of layers, and they frame my face nicely! :D I'm really happy! And they did my fringe properly! There aren't that many hairdresser that cut my fringe the way I like it! So I'm very happy about that!

Coming November I'll be busy participating in the NaNoWriMo. I'm both terrified and exited at the same time! It would be really fantastic to write a novel in a month! Though the idea of writing 50.000 of original fiction does scares me a bit. I know that I probably won't have that smae problem if I was writing fanfiction, because that is somehow more familiar. And with fanfiction I could always suddenly have Draco walk around in dresses and pretend that he is Cloud from Final Fantasy if I feel that my muse has left me. But somehow writing your own fiction is a little harder. It makes you want to be more serious, and that you shouldn't write nonsense in between your hard earned text, even if it's just filler material. Maybe I should play it save and write fanfiction this year, and start writing my first ever novel next year....

4th November I'll be going to Rotterdam! Yay! I'll be going with some friends, and we're going manga shopping! I'm really exited! But I'm really wondering which manga I should buy this time. I don't want to spent that much money. I got every volume of Fullmetal Alchemist, and the next one will be out on the 11th(I have to have it!!!!!) . Maybe I should buy a new volume of xxxHolic? Of maybe Junjou? Hmmm.....

OMG! OMG! Kyaaaaa! There is this new Prince of Tennis ova, and I LOVE it!!! It's called Another Story, and the episodes are about things you don't see in the manga. There are only 2 episodes out at the moment, and I can't wait for more.

I’m so happy with it! I haven’t read all of the fic and seen all of the art yet, so I will be doing that next. I did read some of the fics, and I thought that they were amazing!

Oh, and speaking of challenges...there will be a challenge from bottom_draco ! It will be the very first challenge hosted by the community. You can submit your prompts until 3rd June. I’m not sure if I’m going to do this challenge, it depends if I finds some cute prompts, I would like to write. I did submit a prompt though. The theme of the challenge is Fairytales, and you can submit your prompts here!

I went to the Elf Fantasy Fair 25th April. The EFF is this big fair in the Netherlands that sell a lot of fantasy stuff, but also manga (though there weren’t much of those this year). I was exhausted that day, I had just finished my project the day before. But I had fun! I will be going next year as well (I hope!)

I also will be going to the Chibicon on 13th June. The Chibicon is one of the biggest Anime con’s here in the Netherlands. I can’t wait to go! All those manga and anime that are waiting for me! *squeal* I just bought a camera, so I’ll be making pictures. I already made pictures of the things I got at the EFF and when I was shopping for manga in Rotterdam. Once I successfully uploaded them unto my computer I’ll will post them! :D

The fic turned out to be huge, though. It contains more words then I've ever written for a fic. I feel it needs a theme song, something catchy, like the Jaws theme.
